Honycomb

Every autumn, the Regent Honeyeater Project team checks 200-odd nest boxes for signs of Sugar Gliders, Squirrel Gliders, and Brush-tailed Phascogales. One of the tasks is recording feral bee infestations so they can be poisoned, freeing up precious nesting space for mammals, and reducing depletion of the nectar that native insects and birds depend on.
