Flame Robins and Scarlet Robins occupy different habitats as a rule; Scarlets like trees and thick shrubbery, Flames wide-open spaces. Here in mixed woodland and grassland, however, there is competition for nesting territory, the Flame Robin on the left eventually seeing off the intruding Scarlet.
