Common Bronzewing

Common Bronzewing

I grow sunflowers most summers and In the autumn, when they are ripe, the Crimson Rosellas have a feast. But rosellas are messy feeders and a lot of seed drops to the ground. The last couple of years running, Common Bronzewings have turned up to make the most of it. These are not a bird you often see in suburban Ballarat, but either they are adapting, or my sunflowers are a particularly notable attraction.
