Wannon River

Wannon River

Sometimes the camera lies.

Although this looks like a pleasant spring scene it was actually a terrible monster of a day: 40-plus degrees and a howling north wind. The country around Stawell (a few tens of kilometres to the north-east) had a massive bushfire out of control and others around the state were threatening. This particular day notwithstanding, most of the time the Wannon River at Cavendish is an excellent place to stop and sit in the cool under a tree for a while.
