You don’t often see them as young as this one, which was just barely out of the nest and still clumsy. While I was taking this picture, the two adult Hooded Robins were flitting all around, engaged in a noisy and spectacular dispute with three or four Jacky Winters. One assumes that the robins were as excited as they were because they felt their nest was threatened, but why didn’t the Jacky Winters simply move off a little way? Perhaps they were nesting nearby too. Compare this with an adult Hooded Robin.
