Junction

There is not much rainfall on the plains north of the Pyrenees and west of the St Arnaud Range, and the soil is sandy. There are only two rivers, the Avon and the Richardson: both small and neither one flowing for more than a few months a year. They are nevertheless very significant biodiversirty reservoirs and wildlife corridors. This is where they join, Avon from the left foreground, Richardson from ahead and right. The single northward-flowing stream from this pooint is known by both names - Rich Avon and Richardson. It flows through Donald to dissapear into the usually-dry Lake Bulloak.
