This is the second-oldest picture in this collection. Taking it was just beginner’s luck: I’d spent no more than a couple of days with the big new scope and camera, had no real idea of what I was doing, and was essentially just pointing the contraption at anything with feathers that would stand in one place for long enough. More than 20 years on, I still like the picture.
