Striped Honeyeater

Striped Honeyeater

What is it that makes Striped Honeyeaters so attractive? They are plain-coloured, pleasantly but not strikingly patterned, moderately large as honeyeaters go and rather stubby, not especially active, and quite common within their favoured habitats — yet most birdwatchers are very fond of them. They do have a variety of soft-voiced, pleasant bubbling calls, but in the end I think it comes down to an X factor: they just have natural charm.
